Siblings
Waiting just around the corner
colorful wings flapping freedom.
With every breath she brings,
every step she takes,
I’m learning how to stay.
I know she is there of course
but I let her surprise me.
this is how it works.
In the hush before
her laughter lights the day,
A soft embrace we share
A chance meeting of the pain-gatherers
two hearts that know the ache,
yet, hers refuses to break.
She is a lucky one, she, for every
bit of suffering, it flies away from her,
and her quota is so small.
someday I'll learn how to fly.
Away.
Tell me, sister,
how you bloom,
when I’m still pushing through?
